Re: Petroselinum crispum flat vs. curly
And what is your question here?
I do not think that it makes sense to apply taxonomical names (meant for wild plants) to garden varieties.

Re: Petroselinum crispum flat vs. curly
They do that here, besides only after var. comes cultivar.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ParsleyThe two main groups of parsley used as herbs are French, or curly leaf (P. crispum Crispum Group; syn. P. crispum var. crispum); and, Italian, or flat leaf (P. crispum Neapolitanum Group; syn. P. crispum var. neapolitanum).

Re: Petroselinum crispum flat vs. curly
This citation refers to groups of cultivars, not to wild specimens. The wild species has very variable leaves, and the cited names are given to horticultural selections. See:
Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum Danert; Kulturpflanze, Beih. 2: 322 (1959), no type indicated.

Perhaps you can read sometimes Petroselinum segetum (L.) W.D.J.Koch, but this is a Synonym of Sison segetum L.
