Rhamnus pumila vs. Frangula rupestris ?

Beitrag von BubikolRamios »

According to some sources they are synonims(sample: http://www.plantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/ ... 1?ref=tpl1).
Alpenflora says they are diff. species. So if this
http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery_one_image ... 50a9770dfe
is Rhamnus pumila (see smooth leaf underside) ....

any image outhere that shows dense hairy leaf underside of frangula rupestris (according to alpenflora) ?

You must always have a look at the author:
Rhamnus pumila Wulfen is synonym of Frangula rupestris whereas Rhamnus pumila Turra is synonym of Atadinus pumilus.

The pictures show my herbar specimen of Frangula alnus from Parnassos, Greece, 1996
