Hi,
could be Agaricus cupreobrunneus.
This is the only look-alike in my "big book" (Fungi of Temperate Europe) illustrated in the group of "brown-capped red stainers".
The flesh is slightly reddening (looks a bit more in your picture) and the ring upwards-sheathing (seems to be), growing in grassland (o.k.).
The "adpressed scaly/hairy" surface might look different in pictures, it can break into bigger scales later on.

See the gallery below (put "show all photos of each observation")

doubt that that happens, will check at remaining species in situ...

just a note, this line is extra strong dark pink (would not call it red) painted

opt.: Agaricus langei, according to local guy.

tho local description for Agaricus langei says that meat gets red on air all around evenly.
The one from OP is as is prompt as you cut, would not call it evenly red.

Concerning red and pink, nobody makes a difference there.
There is only: no colour change, or getting yellow, or getting red (maybe slightly brown as well, this counts as "red").
Some days ago a photo was shown in another forum, unusual big red patches in cap-flesh (next to gills), should be just because of humidity, temperature etc.

I have to compare with A. langei, yes it is brown, redding, but the surface??? (I remember small scales only, not these wooly fibres.)
It is growing in the wood ??? (Was the grassland near to forest? Need to compare the ring as well.

A. langei (as in FoTE) : strongly reddening, as well on cap surface when bruised, Ring large and thin, stem base widened, appears on mull soil, mainly in decidious forests.

The best would be to show the complete fruitbody/ some fruitbodies in situ ...

Single circle, nothing more far around, wide cap hump is optional I think - for middle sized.

I think they fit well for A. cupreobrunneus - just from descriptions and photos. I never saw this species ... but it is growing in grassland like A. campestris.
(A. langei and sylvaticus may have a totally brown surface when very young, but looking smoother in photos and will soon break up with this pattern of little flakes. I had "two of those" some weeks ago - not sure which one - in deciduous forest, small for A. langei, big for A. sylvaticus ...)
