Goes for Allium ursinum (EXKURSIONSFLORA DER ALPEN)
Wiki suggests gegliedert means articulate (leaving scar where leaf falls off) ? (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blattform)
Pleas explain gegliedert vs. not gegliedert looking at Alllium.
Spreite gegliedert ?

Re: Spreite gegliedert ?
"Blätter deutlich in Stiel und Spreite gegliedert" translates to "leaves clearly divided into petiole (leaf stalk) and lamina (leaf blade)". "Gegliedert" just means that something is divided into several parts. For example a book is divided (= gegliedert) into chapters etc.. The point here is simply that Allium-ursinum-leaves have a stalk while most other Allium species' do not.

Re: Spreite gegliedert ?
P.S.: The line you read in the Wikipedia is just incomprehensible bullshit.
If you have trouble understanding technical terms in the keys, chances are very good that when you feed them into deepl.com you'll at least get a comprehensible translation. (Copy the whole sentence but replace the abbreviations for best results.)

Re: Spreite gegliedert ?
Chances are very bad that when you feed them into deepl.com ... It throws out incomprehensible bullshit when translating to Slovenian (-:
Anyway, got self made translation engine just for EXKURSIONSFLORA DER ALPEN (first it turns all abbrevations to normal words), and now poped out strange thing where I had gegliedert = divided, and that is not entirely same as deljen(divided) versus razdeljen(can't think now of anything in english to translate into).
Thanks for explanation.

Of course. Try English as the destination language.BubikolRamios hat geschrieben: Sa Jun 01, 2024 10:44 pm Chances are very bad that when you feed them into deepl.com ... It throws out incomprehensible bullshit when translating to Slovenian (-:
"gegliedert" and "divided" don't really mean the same thing in all cases. "Gliedern" is not a general term for dividing something. It +- means that something is comprised of distinct parts.and now poped out strange thing where I had gegliedert = divided
